Our client, a major retail brand are looking for a Head of Advertising to define, develop and deliver the advertising communications for the brand in line with brand guidelines and to meet business requirements. The role affects all key business stakeholders and is a key external communication piece to customers, existing, potential and new. The advertising communications must reflect the brand positioning and strategy and influence all customers.


Key points are:
* Develop advertising propositions which project the brand and deliver against business objectives
* Create brand advertising campaigns through all channels (TV, press, outdoor, online) in line with brand proposition and business objectives
* Write creative, photographic and media briefs for specific campaigns coordinating with key stakeholders.
* Identify, secure and implement appropriate on-air and off-air sponsorship opportunities which are aligned to the brand proposition
* Work with media owners (TV, press) and Media Manager to create an optimal media plan which is consistent with the advertising proposition and is delivered within the brand guidelines
* To hold accountability for the management of key supplier relationships (advertising agencies, media buying agencies and talent agencies). Managing all contractual and relationship matters.
* To manage selected 'talent' partners and to develop new talent relationships in-line with the brand proposition and customer requirements.
* Define product briefs for all campaigns and manage selection through Commercial teams and key suppliers
* As required, attend TV and press shoots ensuring execution is in line with brief and brand guidelines
* Commission research to assess the impact of the advertising campaign on the brand image and business objectives and cascade to key stakeholders

Budget/Financial: Responsible for the delivery of advertising communications within budget. The role holder is accountable for the marketing spend budget for advertising and reporting monthly spend position, including any variances.

Key Decisions:
The role holder is responsible for leading and defining the advertising strategy and communications and will be the key contact, responsible for the delivery.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, Proven Ability or Role Specific Qualifications required:
* Advertising expert with 5+ years experience in advertising in the retail sector
* A proven completer finisher who can develop strategic thinking and rapid response action planning and delivery
* 10+ years total marketing experience
* 3+ years management experience
* A track record of delivering against agreed KPI's (including budget and sales accountability)
* The ability to present compelling and well reasoned arguments to the board and to Board members of advertising and media agencies.
* First rate knowledge of industry trends and innovation within Retail, Marketing and Advertising sectors.
* Demonstrably considers customer in every activity
* Able to achieve excellence, prioritise according to optimum business benefit, within challenging time frames
* Energetic, enthusiastic and tenacious and able to respond in a fast moving environment.
* Strong verbal, analytical and written communication / presentation skills.
